The cover is from the original Kang Duk Won manual. This manual was given in 1970 by Master Park Chull Hee.

The dark color of the cover and the fist with light behind it represent breaking through the darkness into enlightenment that martial arts study and education can provide. This concept and image are central to the teachings and practices of American Kang Duk Won and provide the basis for the design of the AKDW insignia.
